After having successfully released their debut album “…TWO FOR ETERNITY” in 2016, THE LEGION:GHOST report back with a brand new 3-track single!
The new oeuvre bears the title “DISCHARGED” and reflects an unusually open, playful side of the band. The title track, featuring a distinctive lead guitar and some hymnal vocals in the chorus, is considerably more melodious than the quintet’s previous releases. In terms of lyrics, THE LEGION:GHOST praise the elation one feels when cutting oneself off from the socially imposed weight of expectation: “I hate everything you want me to be / Discharge all your baggage to be free”. As a second track, the single contains a remix of the album track “MYPRIVACY.COM”, contributed by the electro-pop duo CHROM, turning out much gloomier than the original version with its swirling synthie layers and driving electro beats. And to top it all off, the third track is a powerful live version of the band’s first single “UNWELCOME”, recorded at Glasfeast Cologne 2016.
